I love Mexican food, in all shape and forms – tacos of course are my favorite because it always puts a BIG smile on my family’s face. Of course there are probably a gazillion way to make Shrimp Tacos – this is a simple recipe that marinates the Shrimp in a simple Chipotle blend. The Chipotle sauce works as a marinade and sauce putting a real OLE into this!

This could feed 4 people or 2 hungry teenage boys and the Chipotle sauce can be used for other things.

Shrimp Tacos

Ingredients
  

Chipotle sauce

  • 186 ml – 6.55 fl oz canned Chipotle Peppers in Adobo sauce
  • 2 tsps Tomato paste
  • 1 tbsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Cumin powder
  • 1/2 tsp Cinnamon powder
  • 1/2 tsp Clove powder
  • 5 cloves Garlic
  • 2 tbsps Agave syrup or Honey
  • 186 ml – 6.55 fl oz Water

Shrimp

  • 1 lb Shrimp
  • Salt to taste
  • 3 tbsps Chipotle sauce

Extras

  • Corn Tortillas
  • Guacamole
  • Lettuce
  • Pico de Gallo
  • Sour cream

Instructions
 

  • Prepare the Chipotle sauce by processing all the sauce ingredients together and then boil it covered for 3 – 5 minutes and then allow to completely cool
  • Add 3 tbsps of this to the shrimp and marinate
  • Shallow fry the shrimp till cooked for just a few minutes on both sides
  • To assemble the tacos, heat the tortilla and smear with some guacamole, add some lettuce, pico de Gallo and then the shrimp. Top with sour cream and some chipotle sauce
