Beet Rat (Beetroot Meatloaf)

Ingredients
  

Meatloaf mixture

  • 1 cup grated cooked Beets
  • 2 lbs ground meat Beef, Lamb or Chicken
  • 1 cup diced Onion
  • 2 tbsps minced green Chilli
  • 1 Egg
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tsp Garam Masala
  • 1 tsp red Chilli powder
  • 1 tsp Cumin powder
  • 1/2 tsp Turmeric

Extras

  • 1 Beetroot root
  • 3 boiled eggs
  • 4 Chicken feet
  • Beef Salami or any other cold cut
  • 2 pickled Onions
  • 1 - 2 uncooked Spaghetti
  • Almond slivers
  • 1 - 2 tbsps Black sesame
  • 2 tbsps Ketchup

Instructions
 

  • Cook the beets and grate some reserving the tail
  • Add onion, green chilli, egg, salt, Garam Masala, chilli powder, cumin and turmeric powder and the grated beets to the meat and mix it well.
  • Make a base with the mixture with a well in the centre - add the beetroot root on one end and the eggs back to back in the well
  • Cover with the rest of the mixture and pack it in
  • Shape the meatloaf so it best looks like a rat
  • Add the chicken feet, salami for ears, onions for eyes and almond slivers for teeth
  • Sprinkle the top with black sesame seeds
  • Cook for 1 hr 15 mins and clean the edges in between and brush with ketchup
