Pakora Tornado



  • 2 cups Chickpea flour Besan or Chana ka atta
  • 1.5 cups Water
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tsp red Chilli powder
  • 1 tsp Cumin powder
  • 1 tsp Chaat masala
  • 1/2 tsp Turmeric
  • 1 tbsp sliced green Chilli
  • 2 tbsps chopped Coriander

Potatoes & Garnish

  • 6 - 7 Potatoes
  • Sprinkle Chilli powder & Chaat Masala
  • Chopped Coriander


  • Prepare the batter by first adding the water a little at a time to the chick pea flour and stirring frequently to remove lumps and then add the rest of the batter ingredients and mix
  • Spiralize the potatoes as shown in the video
  • Dip in the batter to coat
  • Deep fry in hot oil for a few minutes on each side till the batter is crispy and the potato is cooked
  • Sprinkle with chilli powder and chaat masala and some finely chopped coriander leaves before serving
