Walnuts & Pistachios are crushed and added in between layers of buttered phyllo pastry and baked. An orange blossom cheesecake filling is poured over and baked. A final layer of buttered pastry and nuts are added and this is baked again! Finally nuts and sugar syrup is added and it’s baked for a few more minutes. Once chilled this is cut to reveal the gorgeous layers

If you love Baklava & Cheesecake, you’re going to simply love this combination as it’s the best of both worlds. Forget cookie crumbs, the Baklava layers stand up well and hold the delicious Orange blossom scented filling.

I prepared this as a round traditional Cheesecake, but you could also bake this in a rectangular pan the way they traditionally make Baklava. The variations to this are endless!
