


I’ve made this simple appetizer or canape so many times, that I can’t believe I haven’t shared it yet. Whenever you throw a party, this is a great recipe to make a day or so ahead and slice the day of.
Green chutney is made with a blend of Coriander, Chilies and spices. Where I’m from, coconuts are a huge part of the staple diet and we add coconut to our chutneys which I find gives this chutney flavor and body!



Chutney Pinwheels
Ingredients
- 3 cups Coriander
- 1/2 a cup Lemon juice
- 1/2 tsp Peppercorns
- 2 tsps Ginger & Garlic paste
- 1 tbsp green Chillies
- 1/2 red Chilli powder
- 1/2 Chaat masala
- 4 tsps shredded Coconut
- 1/2 cup Butter or Margarine
- 250 gms Bread
Instructions
- Add the lemon juice, ginger and garlic paste and peppercorns to a food processor
- Add a part of the coriander and grind
- Add the chilis and the rest of the coriander
- Add the spices and grind
- Add the coconut in two additions and grind to a paste
- Chill in the fridge
- Butter bread that had been horizontally sliced without crusts
- Add a teaspoon or so of chutney and spread thin
- Roll up the bread and secure with cling film
- Chill in the fridge
- Once chilled, slice into pinwheels with a knife
