“I punctured the eyeballs of some humans and cooked it in their blood’ – Evil Witch

Eggs are cooked in a silicone mold in my Instant Pot and then simmered in a spicy gravy. Every Halloween, I try to come up with a unique and scary recipe. Egg curry came to mind, but I wanted to make the eggs look more like actual eyeballs. Enter my silicone mold. It took some tries to get it right, check out my video for some of the failed attempts as well

The base of this gravy is onions, ginger, garlic and spices and tomatoes are blanched and pureed to give it a nicer smoother texture that looks like blood.

Punctured Eyeball Curry

Ingredients
  

  • Eggs
  • 7 Eggs or more as required
  • Few drops of Sriracha
  • Few drops of dark Soya
  • Blood
  • 1 cup Onions
  • 1 tsp Cumin powder
  • 1 tsp red Chilli powder
  • 2 tsps Ginger & Garlic paste
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 cups blanched and pureed Tomatoes

Instructions
 

  • In an oiled silicone mold, add a few drops of Sriracha in each centre, followed by the dark soya sauce and mix with a toothpick and freeze
  • Remove once frozen and top with the egg white and some of the yolk as well
  • Place in the Instant Pot on a trivet over some water and cook on egg setting for 5 mins
  • Remove, cool and unmold
  • In a sauce pan add some oil and saute the onions
  • Add the cumin and chilli powder and the ginger and garlic paste
  • Add salt to taste and top with the blanched tomatoes and mix well
  • Cover and cook
